- I have a computer art lab with eight Amigas. We are adding a Macintosh,
- and want to buy a color scanner which will be compatible with both
- machines. As I understand it, Amigas usually use the parallel port and
- SCSI to communicate with scanners and the MAC's use a serial connection.
-
- I would like to know first, if what I have just said is correct and,
- second, if the Epson 1200C scanner has both serial and parallel
- connectors? Would we be able to hook an Amiga to the parallel connector
- and a MAC to the serial connector at the same time? Can the scanner
- "sense" which machine it is hooked up to and to which it must reply, or
- would we have to disconnect and reconnect cables each time we wanted to
- use a different machine?
-
- Please respond by email to groland@alleg.edu.
-
- thanks,
